The client appointed KFS on a three-year contract, to carry out fire risk assessments for each academy during the school holidays and within a short timeframe.
KFS also needed to support during the construction phase of any new buildings, which included advising contractors on passive fire protection and detection systems to resolve any issues.
Close liaison with individual site managers and The Trust’s Head of Health, Safety & Risk enabled the works to be completed efficiently across each site. Doing the work during the school holidays meant that any disruption was kept to a minimum.
KFS engineers were able to review Kiwa reports from previous site visits to enhance their knowledge and inform any decisions. This made for a slicker process when it came to carrying out pre-occupation fire risk assessments on new estate buildings.
As KFS has an established working relationship with The Trust, communication with site managers and head office staff is highly effective.
KFS experts were able to successfully deliver their fire risk assessment programme across all sites and identify any outstanding risks.
Throughout any new building construction works, KFS engineers gave advice to contractors to ensure the solutions to any issues were joined up and met the required fire safety standards.
