Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance were asked to review the efficacy of the existing fire safety strategy against the as-built drawings of the site, to ensure the documents were accurate, complete and suitable for the building.
As the hospital was built in 2002, the client was keen to seek a review to ensure the building still complied with current building regulations and guidance.
Through site visits, some invasive inspections and a thorough analysis of the existing strategy, IFC was able to clarify and recommend engineering solutions to compartment walls that would help the building achieve compliance.
From our work the client received both assurances of the quality of their installations already in situ, as well as the ability to plan any remedial actions as necessary.
Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance identified where installations and compartments were satisfactory, ensuring the client was not put in a position of unnecessary expenditure or overprovision.
