Following a previous career as a Hydrographic Survey, and qualified to RICS finals level, Richard joined the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) in 1987 as a Fire Test Engineer, then as a consultant, involved in the fire resistance of building materials and preparation of engineering assessments.
Richard then joined IFC as a Senior Engineer for the fire safety of building materials, including the preparation of engineering assessments. During his time with LPC, and for about 10 of the 22 years with IFC/Kiwa, witnessed fire testing for clients at UK & European fire test labs in addition to many site visits.
